 Born in Buenos Aires, Maria Virginia Savastano was named by the journal “La nacion” like the new artist of the year, she began her vocal studies at the Instituto Superior de Artes of Teatro Colón, currently she is perfecting herself with Maestra Svetlana Volosenko. 

She plays the roles of Norina (Don Pasquale), Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Belinda (Dido and Aeneas in Cleveland, EEUU, (and at the Colon theater), Corilla (Le conveniente ed inconvenienze teatrali), Monica (The Medium), Adina (El elixir de amor), Despina (cosi fan tutte) at the Colon Theater and Musetta (La Bohéme) at the Avenida Theater, Buenos Aires. 

In 2004, the Association of Critics of Argentina awarded her the "stimulus award" for her performance in the season. 

In 2005, she wins the first prize of the international contest "Neue Stimmen" in Gutersloh, Germany. 

From 2006 to 2009 she is part of the Atelier Lyrique of the Opera National de Paris, where she made the following productions: Così fan tutte (Despina) at the Rennes Opéra, Dido and Aeneas (Belinda), Les Aveugles by Xavier Dayer, Il Matrimonio secreto (Elisetta), Mozart concert and Shakespeare concert at the Palais Garnier with the Orchestra de l'Opéra National de Paris, and more. 

In July 2007, she participated in the Mecklembourg-Vorpommern festival in Germany and won first prize as a solo artist that year. In May 2008 she received the prestigious "Cercle Carpeaux" opera prize, in October 2009 she received the L'AROP opera prize. She made her debut in the main hall of L'Opéra National de Paris in the role of Papagena in "The Magic Flute" in November 2008. 

In 2009 she is invited again to the Festspiele Mecklemburg-Vorpommern and sings as a soloist at an Opera Gala with the BRorchestre in Munich. 

In February 2010, she played the role of Adina in "L'elisir d'amore" at the Opéra of Dijon, France. The same year, she sings the oratorio "Thamos" by Mozart at the Lessay Abbey and in Bremen (Germany) under the direction of Jérémie Rhorer. Also she sang the role of Barbarina "Le nozze di Figaro" in the famous staging of Strehler at the Opéra National de Paris directed by Philippe Jordan. 

In 2011 she resumed the role of Despina at the L'apostrophe de Cergy theater (France), and the role of Barbarina at the Teatro Real in Madrid, the same year, she traveled to Buenos Aires to interpret the role of Clarice in the Opera "Il mondo della luna" (Haydn) under the musical direction of Rodolfo Fisher and stage direction of Pablo Maritano at the Avenida theater in Buenos Aires. 

2012 begins with the role of Servilia in "La clemenza di Tito" at the Teatro Real, Spanish Concert at the Opera de Lille, the role of the angel in the oratorio "La resurrezione" by Handel at the Amphitheater of the Opera National de Paris, Serpetta in "La finta giardiniera" in Bobigny's MC93, "agrippina condotta a morire", Handel's cantatas at the "Pontoise baroque festival", Herblay, the Brahms' Requiem at the Sheldonian theatre, London , and the reprise of the Angel "la resurrezione" in Suresnes and Poissy, France. 

In 2013 he sings Mozart's mass in C minor as a soloist under the direction of Mark Minkowski on a tour of Japan (Tokyo and Kanazawa). She interprets the role of Silvia in "Zanetto" by Pietro Mascagni at the Herblay theater, reprises the role of Servilia "La clemenza di Tito" for the Opera National de Paris, Palais Garnier under the direction of Thomas Netopil. 

In 2014 she began playing the role of Serpetta "La finta giardiniera" for "Le concert d'Astrée" under the direction of Emmanuelle Haïm at the Lille and Dijon Opera, France. 

She debuted the role of Susanna "Le nozze di Figaro" at the Dijon Opera, she resumed the same role at the Saint Etienne Opera and later in Bahrain directed by Andrea Spering. 

The same year she gave a concert at the Lille Opera "Japon toujours" with a completely Japanese repertoire. 

In 2015, she interprets the role of Betty in Salieri's Opera "Falstaff" in Herblay, obtaining wonderful reviews for her performance as a singer and actress. 

She travels to Tsinandali, Georgia, Koblenz, Germany and Paris, to perform Handel's famous cantata "il delirio amoroso" and Bach's "Jauchzet Gott In Allen Landen". 

She reprises the role of Servilia for the Opera of Saint Etienne. 

That same year she traveled to Tokyo and Fukushima, Japan, to participate in the "Bandai international festival" where she performed several concerts of Spanish, Italian and Japanese repertoire. 

In 2016 sings again Serpetta of "La finta giardiniera" (same production of the Lille and Dijon Opera) at the Rennes opera. 

She travels to Tirol, Italy, to record her first solo CD with the Diderot Ensemble, "Ristori cantatas for soprano", then she does several presentation concerts in Paris and Herblay, France. 

2017 begins with the role of Elisetta for "il matrimonio secreto" at the Opera de Nancy, she makes the official release of the Cd de Ristori at the "Christuskirche", Paris and Bordeaux. 

She interprets the role of Despina "Cosi fan tutte" in Stockholm and at the Royal Theater of Versailles, France, under the direction of Marc Minkowsky and Ivan Alexandre. 

In 2018 she traveled to Japan to sing at the "Spring Green music festival" in Kanazawa and also at the Nikkei Hall in Tokyo. 

During the festival she sings 6 concerts at the Ongakudo Hall and works with the Kanazawa Orchestra Ensemble, directed by Henrik Schaefer and with the Salzburg Mozarteumorchester directed by Riccardo Minasi. 

In 2019 she interprets the role of the Little Prince in the Opera "The Little Prince" by Rachel Portman, and the roles of Arbate and Ismene in the work "Mitridates" by Mozart for the Chamber Opera of the Teatro Colon in the main hall of the theater. 

In 2020 she travels to Bariloche , Argentina, to sing several concerts. 

From 2020 to 2021 she is dedicated to giving virtual classes and outdoor concerts due to the pandemic. 

In December 2021, she played the role of Serpetta again, this time at the Teatro Colon as the first cast, receiving favorable reviews. 

In 2022 she makes her debut with the role of Fiordiligi in the Opera "Cosi fan tutte" at the Teatro del Sodre in Uruguay and plays the role of Lauretta in "Gianni Schicchi" for the Teatro Colón chamber opera. 

Recently she received the mention as “woman of the year” in her town, she is an important soprano in Buenos Aires. 

Among her upcoming projects she will sing two leading roles in the main hall of the Teatro Colón, Buenos Aires.
